The police car immediately left the scene. An anonymous source told Hengaw that the government initially claimed Fathi was identified for writing slogans, but later retracted their statement and warned his family not to speak to the media about the incident.

Warnings Against Protests Abroad

Iran's former deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, warns against allowing protests against the Islamic Republic to take place abroad, claiming an ongoing "project to defame and delegitimize" the regime. He acknowledges that protests both inside and outside the country bring about cost and pressure, which affects foreign relations and cooperation with other countries. This comes amid Western countries' pressure on Iran to stop human rights violations at home and arms supplies to Russia, deteriorating the relationship between European countries and Iran following a violent crackdown on protests resulting in the death of over 500 civilians.

According to Qom University of Medical Sciences, 11 students from a school in the city of Qom were hospitalized on Sunday due to symptoms of poisoning. The affected students reportedly suffered respiratory symptoms, throat irritation, and nausea. However, the university emphasized that their overall condition is stable.

This issue has occurred repeatedly in recent weeks, and many families refuse to send their children to school.

Fighting with Life for Justice

Iranian rapper Saman (Yasin) Seydi has been on hunger strike since February 16 to protest the indecision and proceedings in his case.

Previously, Seydi was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court despite the lack of evidence or documentation to support the alleged charges. His case attracted international attention. Protests by his lawyer and political sponsor Carlos Kasper led to the removal of Seydi's death sentence.

On December 20, 2022, he attempted suicide in prison to protest the accusations against him and the inhumane prison conditions.

Munich Security Conference

While the regime officials were absent from the Munich Security Conference, opposition figures such as Reza Pahlavi, Nazanin Boniadi, and Masih Alinejad continue to advocate for international support to pressure the Iranian government to respect human rights and promote democracy. The speeches by Pahlavi and Boniadi shed light on the ongoing struggle for freedom and democracy in Iran at the conference. Pahlavi's proposals, particularly the establishment of financial support funds for striking Iranian workers, highlight the severity of the economic challenges facing the Iranian people and the need for immediate action. The calls for change demonstrate that the Iranian people's aspirations for freedom and democracy are stronger than ever and serve as a reminder that the international community must support their struggle.
