There have always been numerous reports of inhumane conditions in the prisons of the Islamic Republic, especially in the case of political prisoners and women in particular. With the massive crackdown on protesters in recent months and increased pressure to break them and take forced confessions, these conditions have only worsened.
Fatemeh Sepehri, a political and social activist, has been in prison since September. She is one of the co-signers of a petition that asked Khamenei, the Islamic Republic’s Leader, to resign. According to Fatemeh’s brother, she needs medical attention and an appropriate diet due to high blood pressure and diabetes.
So far, Fatemeh’s temporary imprisonment has been extended three times.
40 Arrests in One Day
Local resources report that on Monday, January 2nd, at least 40 people were arrested in Zahedan. People in Zahedan have protested every Friday since the beginning of the uprising during the last 13 weeks. Every time Islamic Republic forces suppress the protests so brutally that they are known as “Bloody Fridays” in Zahedan. Resources report that the massive arrest happened in two parts of the city: 10 in Keshavarz Street and 30 in Karim Abad stadium.
Five For One
Five individuals have been charged with “corruption on earth” in the case of an IRGC member’s death. On Tuesday, January 3, The Islamic regime’s Supreme Court confirmed two death sentences and held off on the other three.

Mohammad Hosseini’s lawyer said that he’s under extreme torture in prison. There is evidence that all five individuals have confessed under torture. Each of them, in conversations with their families and loved ones, mentioned that they were innocent in the death of Rouhollah Ajamian, the dead IRGC member.
“Justice Prevails”
Sunday, January 8, marks the third anniversary of the downing of flight PS752. This plane was reportedly shot with two missiles only three minutes after takeoff from Tehran’s IKA airport. Neither of the 176 passengers and crew members survived. On January 8, 2023, families of PS752 flight victims organized a gathering on this day in 72 cities around the world to honor the lives we lost, not only in Flight PS752, but during the four-decade reign of the Islamic Regime. People in every corner of the world will gather together to light a candle, grieve, and honor the memories of all the innocent lives lost.
