Narges Mansouri, Activist, has gone on a hunger strike since January 29, 2023. She was among the 14 women who signed the statement that demanded Ali Khamenei resign.

In a voice message, she says that she will continue her hunger strike due to three main reasons:


  • Her being held incommunicado

  • Her being threatened with death by IRGC

  • Tortures by her Interrogator(s)


Mina Yaghoubi (33) from the city of Arak, is sentenced to 11 years in prisonand124 hours of “washing the graves”. She was arrested for allegedly throwing stones at a graveyard gate where martyrs are buried. Yaghoubi says that for days she was in interrogation 12 hours a day and being tortured. In images and videos after her temporary release, she appeared with bruised eyes and signs of torture in the prison.


 

A Threat to Everyone

Australia's security authorities have foiled an Iranian regime attack on an opponent of the regime who had been participating in protests against the Islamic Republic in Australia. The incident was announced by Australian Home Affairs Minister Claire O'Neil, who condemned foreign interference as a threat to democracy.


The Islamic Republic has a long history of threats and attacks against dissidents in democratic countries.


 

Violation of the UN Security Council Resolution

On Monday, February 13th, the UK Ministry of Defense submitted evidence to the UN that proved the IRGC is smuggling weapons in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.


According to this statement, “On two occasions in early 2022, Royal Navy ship, HMS Montrose, seized Iranian weapons from speed-boats operated by smugglers in international waters south of Iran”, also “the items included surface-to-air-missiles and engines for land attack cruise missiles, in contravention of UN Security Council Resolutions 2231 and 2140.”


A commercial quadcopter drone designed for reconnaissance activities was one of the key pieces of evidence that the UK provided which they were able to decrypt the flight logs before its arrival to Yemen: “The UK Ministry of Defense discovered the records of 22 test flights conducted at the IRGC Aerospace Force Headquarters and test facility in western Tehran.”


 

Call For Action

The next call for support for people outside of Iran is on February 20th in Brussels. This demonstration’s goal is the listing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization by the EU.


Darya Safai, member of the Belgian parliament, along with other Iranian(-born) activists including Alireza Akhondi, Masih Alinejad, and Hamed Esmaeilion will be present as well.


France announced that new EU sanctions against the Islamic regime will be approved on Monday while demanding the release of French hostages.
