On Saturday, Arash Sadeghi's father and his lawyer announced his release on bail on social media. He’s been imprisoned since October 12.
Arash is suffering from cancer and has been on hunger strike many times in prison. He has been arrested several times since January 2008 and has spent most of these years in prison.
In 2010, during the raid of the security forces on his residence, his mother suffered a heart attack and passed away in the hospital a few days later.
In 2016, after protesting the arrest of his wife (Golrokh Iraee), he went on a hunger strike that lasted for 71 days until his wife was temporarily released. This resulted in irreparable damage to his physical health.
Iranian Demonstrations Worldwide
On Saturday, January 21, Iranians demonstrated in several European cities, including Berlin, Paris, and Copenhagen, in solidarity with the uprising of the people inside Iran. People also demonstrated in other cities outside of Europe such as Melbourne, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.
By repeating the slogans of the people inside the country, demonstrators demanded the fall of the Islamic regime, listing IRGC as a terrorist organization, and ending the cooperation and negotiation of the western governments with the regime.
The Coordinating Council of Iranian Educators' Union reported that Zeinab Molaei-Rad, Kian Pirfalak's mother, is suspended from continuing her work in the school. Kian Pirfalak (9) was killed in a shooting by the security forces of the Islamic Republic in his parent's vehicle in the city of Izeh.
30-day Report on Human Rights
Iranian Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) published a report on the human rights situation in Iran from Dec. 22 to Jan. 20.
According to this report, which is based on verified information, in the last 30 days, there have been nearly 50 executions, numerous convictions, extensive violations of prisoners' rights, torture of detainees, persistent violations of freedom of speech, and numerous workers' rallies and strikes.
