An informed source told HRANA: "The hunger strike by these people is a protest against the indecision and prolonged incarceration, the poor sanitary condition of the prison and the spread of diseases such as skin fungus, the lack of attention to the medical condition of the detainees, and the denial of treatment. The overcrowding of residents in the women's ward, the denial of the right to access a lawyer and unfair punishments."

The sessions to investigate the accusations of Hamideh Zarei, Fatemeh Harbi, and Ensieh Mousavi were held separately through video call in the prison. None of them had enough time to defend themselves in the absence of a lawyer.

The prison authorities were forcing Elham Modaresi to end her hunger strike and severely beat her after facing resistance. She’s now banned from making phone calls to her family for putting more pressure on her. Elham’s physical condition is worrying and her family has no information about her situation.

Going on a hunger strike is the last resort for many prisoners in Iran, hoping their demands would be met, while their basic rights are being violated.

Crime? Photography

Iranian photojournalist Yalda Moaiery published a video in which she said: "After working as a photojournalist for 23 years, the Islamic Republic's court sentenced me to 6 years in jail and working as a waste collector for 2 months due to covering people's movement." Yalda is also banned from using mobile phones, staying in Tehran and neighboring provinces, and leaving the country for two years.

On Friday, the U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned the head of Iran's Aerospace Industries Organization, which the U.S. says oversees Iran's ballistic missile program, as well as 6 executives and board members of Qods Aviation Industries (overseas branch of IRGC) for their role in supplying drones to Russia.

Zahedan, Fridays, Prayers & Protests

People came to the streets on Friday after the prayers, chanting slogans against the Islamic Republic and Ali Khamenei himself.

In a massacre on 30th September remembered as “Bloody Friday” at least 90 people were shot and killed in a few hours.

Mohammad Rigi (29), who was injured on the Bloody Friday of Zahedan, died on Friday after 97 days of suffering due to the severity of his injuries caused by a military combat bullet.

Molavi Abdul Hamid, Iran’s top Sunni Muslim cleric, during his prayer speech called for the Iranian government to be accountable for the recent events and said, "the ruler must be accountable to the nation that elected him and voted for him.” As he emphasized, “No ruler in the world has absolute authority.”
