Sunday, December 25, marks 100 days since the beginning of the uprising in Iran. During these 100 days, at least 506 people have been killed, including 69 children, and 18477 individuals have been detained. Throughout these days, 2 publicly announced executions and over 80 silent executions happened and at least 11 individuals have been sentenced to death.
People are still resisting the regime every day.
Friday Protests
Local resources report protests in Zahedan, Baluchistan’s capital. People came to the street to protest against the regime’s brutality and the disappearance of Molavi Naghshbandi, a religious leader. It has been 11 days since Naghshbandi has gone missing due to his critics of the Islamic Republic's treatment.
People in Zahedan have come to the streets every Friday since the beginning of the protests. By now, Zahedan is known to have “Bloody Fridays” due to mass killings and attacks from IRGC forces.
Sealed, Closed, Burnt
A bookstore in Babol, the northern part of Iran, has been sealed and is now burnt for giving refuge to people during the protests and not handing them to forces. Babol’s Book City is a part of the Book City merchandise in the country, linked to the municipality. The owner joined the nationwide strikes and welcomed protestors running from the forces inside the store. This bookstore is now completely ruined.
Farhad Maysami, a social and political activist in prison, entered a hunger strike. Maysami said he won’t break his strike until certain detainees are freed from prison:
1- Mohammad Habibi, Teacher
2- Nahid Shirpisheh, Mother of a Victim
3- Reza Shahabi, Bus Driver
4- Mostafa Nili, Lawyer
5- Niloofar Hamedi, Journalist
Maysami has been in prison for four years because of his protests and critics of mandatory hijab, before the recent uprising. He is charged with 5 years of prison.
