Artists Under Pressure

Artists are being threatened by the Islamic Republic authorities, including the head of the regime’s radio and television, for supporting the protests. This is while famous cinema and art festivals and academies around the world announced their support of Iran’s protests and demanded the detained artists be freed immediately. These coalitions especially took place after the arrest of the famous actress, Taraneh Alidoosti.

Increase in Immigration

Statistics show that the number of immigrants from Iran increased in 2022 and broke the record of the country’s history in immigration. Many start-ups and tech experts are among those. Economic and social pressures are among the main reasons for immigration in Iran.

Protests in the Streets are NOT Over

Due to internet blockage, there is less news, videos, and pictures from the streets these days. However, according to local sources, protests in the streets are still ongoing. On Wednesday, December 21, people in Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan province, went to the streets and protested against the regime’s brutality.

In the universities same as before, protest acts are being performed; in a university in Sanandaj, students in protest against the death sentences and the Islamic Regime’s judiciary, put a sticker on one of the recycle bins which reads: “Attention! Displacement of this recycle bin could get you hanged”.

Reports of severe suppression of protesters in the city of Izeh in Khuzestan province with military weapons, including heavy ammunition such as RPG rockets, have been published on social media in the past two days. So far, we do not have any information about the exact number of casualties and the details of these reports.

Many women-representing individuals keep showing up in the streets without the mandatory hijab and risk their lives every day.

Stand with Afghanistan

We, at The Revolution Times, are devastated by the news from Afghanistan. As of December 21st, women and girls are banned from universities and do not have the right to continue their education.

Iran’s current uprising’s main message is “Woman, Life, Freedom”. We believe that this message is a way of living. We stand with anyone banned from their basic rights, including our neighbors and fellow human beings in Afghanistan.
